Outgoing Air India CEO Campbell Wilson to Join Air New Zealand Board
|

Air New Zealand Wednesday announced it has appointed former Air India CEO Campbell Wilson to its board, bringing in an airline veteran with more than three decades of experience as the carrier deals with fleet, engine and cost pressures. Wilson and former Air New Zealand Chief Financial Officer Robert McDonald will join the board from the airline’s annual shareholders’ meeting on September 24, subject to shareholder approval. They will replace Larry De Shon, the U.S.-based director who is retiring after joining the board in 2020.

FACC AG posts strong H1 results, and an impressive outlook
|

The latest financial results from aerospace manufacturer FACC AG show that the company continued to increase revenues in the first half of 2026. The Austria-based company, which operates in sectors including aircraft interiors, increased its revenues by 8.6% year-on-year, from EUR 484.7 million in H1 2025, to EUR 526.3 million in H1 2026. Its operating result (EBIT) also increased, by 38%, from EUR 18.4 million in H1 2025 to EUR 25.3 million in H1 2026. The EBIT margin increased from 3.8% to 4.8%.

|

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has welcomed the opening of new technologically advanced sleeping cabins by Kepler Club. The expansion more than doubles Kepler Club’s capacity at KLIA, from 64 to 148 beds, and introduces a double-deck cabin design with fully private entrances for every guest. The configuration combines the intimacy of a hotel room with the space efficiency required in an airport environment. Each DoubleKep cabin features sound insulation, allowing guests to connect to the in-cabin sound system via Bluetooth and enjoy their favourite Spotify playlists in complete privacy.

Airports of Thailand mulls arrivals duty-free revival

Speculation is building in Thailand over a possible revival of arrivals duty-free shopping, with multiple reports suggesting Airports of Thailand (AOT) is weighing the reinstatement at its airports. Such a volte-face would spell good news for beleaguered travel retailer King Power, AOT and arriving passengers. Powerful local media The Nation cited AOT President Paweena Jariyathitipong pointing to continued calls from passengers for arrivals duty-free shopping, noting that some were now purchasing goods overseas instead before returning to Thailand.
