PXCom and Forthcode are filling in the missing links when it comes to airline operations with the launch of nGO AI CoPilot, introduced this week at the 2025 APEX FTE Asia EXPO. The AI-powered system plugs directly into PXCom’s full digital journey ecosystem to give airlines real-time intelligence that can create more seamless journeys for passengers. PXCom also debuted SkyLink at the show, a solution that allows more flexible, cost-efficient updates to onboard servers.

APEX (the Airline Passenger Experience Association) has announced the 2026 APEX Best Airline Awards winners at an event during APEX FTE Asia Expo 2025 in Singapore. Frontier Airlines is adding additional routes to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) in February next year. The new seasonal routes are set to coincide with the world-famous Mardi Gras celebrations, making it easier for people from across the US to travel to the annual celebrations in New Orleans. While not the first time that Frontier has added capacity for Mardi Gras, it represents the airline's biggest seasonal boost to date.

Gilat Satellite Networks’ Commercial Division has received a USD 7 million order for Gilat Wavestream’s Aerostream 60W Ka-band Wideband BUCs. They will be deployed as part of a next-gen in-flight connectivity solution to be installed on commercial aircraft, the company says, with deliveries expected over the next 24 months. The BUCs, designed to enable robust, high-speed in-flight connectivity across both LEO and GEO satellite constellations, operate in the 27.5 to 30.0 GHz range.

Thai Airways has become the first airline to commit to line-fit installation of the Skywaves in-flight connectivity solution from Neo Space Group (NSG) on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. All 34 of Thai Airways’ new Boeing 787 aircraft will be delivered with NSG’s multi-orbit IFC system installed at the factory, enabling inflight broadband speeds of up to a claimed 200 Mbps. NSG Skywaves uses SES’s Open Orbits network, combining Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) for low-latency, high-speed performance with Geostationary Orbit (GEO) for global coverage. 

Lufthansa Technik has developed the Nice Intellitable, a prototype folding tray table which combines a haptic surface with high-definition touchscreen functionality. The smart and intuitive functions of the touchscreen display only appear on the tray table at the passenger’s request, and vanish into the table’s thin foldable surface when not needed. The Nice Intellitable is a development of Lufthansa Technik’s Hidden Touch Display, which blends aircraft cabin surfaces with a high-quality look and feel, with interactive functionality. 

Vietnam Airlines has implemented Lido Flight 4D from Lufthansa Systems as its new flight planning system. By using Lido Flight 4D, Vietnam Airlines reinforces its commitment to efficiency, safety, and an enhanced passenger experience, building on its successful integration of other Lufthansa Systems solutions, including Lido mPilot, Lido FMS, and Lido AMDB. “This partnership signifies a major step forward in our journey towards becoming a 5-star carrier.

Lufthansa Group has assembled an Accessibility Customer Advisory Committee, tasked with the goal of making the air travel experience better for passengers with impairments or disabilities. The committee members include people with accessibility requirements, including limited mobility, visual impairments, hearing impairments, and cognitive impairments. This committee will advise the Lufthansa Group in the development of offers, products, and services for people with visible and invisible disabilities, based on their observations, experiences, and ideas for improvement.

CesiumAstro, a space communications operator, has signed a memorandum of understanding with TCI Aircraft Interiors (TCI), a provider of aircraft cabin systems and in-flight connectivity (IFC) technologies, to evaluate advanced SATCOM technologies for commercial aviation. As part of this agreement, TCI will collaborate with CesiumAstro on the assessment of its Skylark antenna system, which is being developed for future aircraft connectivity programmes. The collaboration represents a key step in TCI’s IFC technology roadmap and reflects the company’s commitment to exploring scalable, next-generation connectivity solutions. 

Satellite operator, SES, has entered into an agreement with Infinite Orbits to collaborate on Europe’s first commercial geostationary satellite life extension mission. The partnership reflects growing interest in in-orbit servicing as operators seek cost-effective and environmentally responsible solutions. Life extension missions reduce the need for replacement satellites, helping to limit space debris and improve resource efficiency. Under the agreement, Infinite Orbits will deploy its Endurance vehicle, which is a 750kg spacecraft designed for in-orbit servicing, to extend the operational life of an SES satellite.
